Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh—Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed an election rally in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, where he fiercely targeted the opposition parties. He began by praising the land of Ghazipur, highlighting its tales of valor and bravery. “The tradition of Ghazipur and the village of Gamhar here… this name itself is enough. Where brave men emerge from every house… has anyone else got this pride other than Ghazipur… the whole country is indebted to this land,” he said.
Betrayal by the Indi Alliance
Modi accused the Indi alliance of betraying the people of Ghazipur. He stated that after independence, Congress had sworn not to develop this area, resulting in prolonged poverty. He recounted the efforts of Ghamri Babu, who raised the plight of Ghazipur’s people in Parliament. “Our Ghamri Babu told Nehru ji about the situation here with tears in his eyes, how the people used to eat wheat by picking it from the dung of animals. But what did the Congress party do? They found political opportunities in that too,” Modi said. He expressed satisfaction that his government is now providing free ration to every poor person.
Congress Criticized for Delays and Broken Promises
Modi criticized Congress for delaying work and snatching rights. He mentioned that One Rank, One Pension was implemented only after he came into power. “Congress is an expert in delaying work and snatching rights. They did not even let our brave soldiers of the army get One Rank, One Pension. One Rank, One Pension was implemented when Modi came,” he asserted.
He highlighted his government’s achievements, stating that 25 crore people have come out of poverty in just 10 years due to the strengthened support from the voters. “We gave PM Awas to 4 crore families. We opened bank accounts of 50 crore poor people. We brought electricity to every village, we are providing water to every house. Today no poor person has to sell his land for treatment because today he has an Ayushman card,” he added.
Law and Order Under the SP Government
Modi also addressed the law and order situation under the previous SP government in Uttar Pradesh. He criticized the era when the mafia used to roam freely with red lights and lawlessness prevailed. “The situation in UP during the SP era was such that the mafia used to roam around with red lights, used to warn the law in open jeeps. Opponents were openly shot dead. Riots were made the identity of UP. There used to be 2-3 riots every month during the SP government. The poor were the ones who suffered because of this,” he said. He praised the current administration under Yogi Adityanath, stating that both riots and rioting have stopped.
In his rally, Modi emphasized the significant strides made under his leadership and the need for continued support to sustain the progress.
